We thought your corporate slogan was “do no evil”. 
And yet, when some of your executives were accused of sexual harassment and discrimination, the board of directors of Alphabet (your umbrella company) approved outsize severance packages for them, so allowing the culture of misconduct to continue.
It’s recently been reported that James Martin, a shareholder, is now suing your past and present directors and executives. He hopes to win damages and reform your corporate governance and share structure to avoid this happening in future.
What happened?
It was a culture where numerous executives allegedly dated or had affairs with subordinates.
Andy Rubin created Google’s Android software. He was accused of forcing a female employee to give him oral sex. Despite the accusation being found ‘credible’, he left the business in 2014 with a $90m exit package.
When they found out, thousands of staff walked out in protest.
His attorney has said: “Andy left Google voluntarily. Andy denies any misconduct, and we look forward to telling his story in court.”
Oh Google.

Please set a good example to other employers about how to behave properly!
What this means to you
It is illegal for someone to sexually harass you at work.
In fact, no one should behave in any way that violates your dignity or creates an offensive environment.
Your employer has a duty to protect you from this kind of unwanted behaviour.
